Taking a first-timer up - June 23, 2019

Spent today locally here in Orlando. I took my friend Eduardo's son, Marcus, for his first flight in a small plane. He was a little nervous at first but I let him get some stick time and the kid was a natural. I think he was holding altitude better than I was. 😁
It's experiences like this that are the driving factor for doing this trip, so it was a great day!
Tomorrow is a short flight over to Tampa to meet up with the ICON folks there and plan out some water adventures over the next several days. Can't wait!
😀👍🏼
One of my goals for this trip was to get people interested in general aviation, so being able to take someone up for the first time was a lot of fun. My only regret is that due to the flap issue I wasn't able to land on the lake. Probably just as well since you want to leave something for their second flight. 😀
Still, this was one chance to do some water ops that I was sorry to have to miss.
The rest of the day was spent hanging around, relaxing, having a few drinks and more pool time. With the summer heat going full blast I was taking full advantage of the pools at each stop. I was very aware of not pushing myself too much early on. This was planned as an 8-week trip that ended up being nine weeks by the end, so I needed to rest up when I could. It was a marathon, not a sprint.
