Today was one of those Meat and Potatoes days. The goal was to get to Brainerd, MN but there was the threat of storms moving into the area around around the time I was set to arrive. I left Green Bay at about 8am with good weather but some haze that made the horizon kind of mushy. That would basically be the weather for the whole day.

I had a planned fuel stop in Eau Claire, WI and was hoping that wouldn't give the storms time to move in. Fortunately, there weren't any major storms in the area when I landed in Brainerd - just some gusty winds.

I'm staying at the Arrowwood Lodge, a really nice hotel with a pretty authentic rustic theme. I really like the whole aesthetic!

My reason for choosing Brainerd was the lakes in the area, so I'm planning to get out early tomorrow and spend some time on the water before the winds pick up again.

I put together a YouTube video for this flight. It wasn't a particularly exciting flight, but I took the opportunity to talk about the whole experience so far.

I'd hoped to do more videos like this during the trip but it was tough to find the time. I'd also come to realize that my personality didn't mesh well with YouTube's...culture.

I have a lot of respect for folks who create aviation content regularly on YouTube. It's a LOT of work and takes a special kind of tolerance that I just don't have.

I didn't know it at this point, but I was going to be spending a fair amount of time at the Arrowwood Lodge. So much that a few of the critters decorating the place would get names.
